Sustainable Procurement Policy

General Dynamics OTS Canada’s Sustainable Procurement Policy and Guideline lay out the minimum sustainability requirements for products and services purchased by GD OTS Canada and identify those product attributes that are strongly preferred, if not mandatory. In general terms, the GD OTS Canada Sustainable Procurement Policy outlines the company’s objectives for sustainable procurement. This policy describes what the company considers to be sustainable at the product, product category, service, or industry level. This Sustainable Procurement Policy prioritizes waste reduction in the following order: reduce, reuse, and then recycle. When it is possible, a fourth option that sustainable procurement should look at is to valorize an alternative use of the element identified as waste, often referred as 3RV.
