Proofing, Testing and Evaluation

At is Le Gardeur plant, General Dynamics Defence Products and Tactical Systems – Canada (GD-OTS – Canada) tests and tests the quality of its products in modern ballistics laboratories consisting of an outdoor test range and instrumented indoor ranges. When long firing distances or specialized testing capabilities are required, it conducts these tests through its team based at the Ammunition Test and Experimentation Centre (CEEM) in Nicolet. GD-OTS – Canada also has access to testing facilities at other Canadian Forces bases. 

The Nicolet Test and Experimentation Centre is a government-owned, company-operated facility. It is approximately 120 km east of our Repentigny offices. All types of internal ammunition (small, medium and large caliber) can be tested up to a firing range of 1 km. For long-range and explosive large-bore caliber, GD-OTS Canada has access to CFB Gagetown as well as other Canadian Armed Forces bases listed below.
