Research and Development

The unique technical capabilities and expertise of our R&D team have resulted in the development, type qualification and manufacturing of an extensive range of niche products to meet emerging needs. 

Favoring a collaborative and solutions provider approach, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems – Canada (General Dynamics-OTS Canada) works with Government and Research Agencies to develop new customized products and solutions. We transform concepts into fully qualified ammunition products. 

The R&D department has worked on several projects including: 155mm Autonomous Precision Guided Munition, Multi-Spectral Obscurants, Multi-Purpose Base Armored Vehicle, Insensitive Munitions, and the Soldier Modernization Program.  

Our research and development projects allow us to work closely with Canada’s Department of National Defense, the United States Government and other NATO countries.
